Cure For Connor

Connor loves machinery. He is especially interested in the different parts and how they work together. When it came time to decide on a wish, Connor knew he wanted to see a Bobcat being built.

In 2014, he found himself face-to-face with a HUGE Bobcat forklift named Big Red. Connor was mesmerized by Big Red, watching it move gigantic pieces of steel like they were as light as feathers.

Today, memories of his wish help to keep him going during visits to the Mayo Clinic for treatments. It's been nearly five years since he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder affecting his white blood cells, but thinking about Big Red gives him the strength to continue his fight.

The happiness Connor experienced during his wish, inspires his family to give back by raising funds to grant wishes for other kids. Connor and his family have spent the past few years helping wishes come true by participating with the annual Walk For Wishes® event. Connor's team - Cure For Connor - has raised nearly $10,000 and grown from 15 to more than 65 team members! It has turned into a mini-family reunion, and they hope to raise $6,000 this year.

"Seeing the joy in my son's eyes during his wish, and knowing the joy it brought to him during a time when he needed it the most, reaffirms the importance of our participation in the Walk For Wishes," Connor's mom, Jill, said. "It's such an easy and fun way to raise funds for other wish kids, and raise awareness for this great organization."
