The day Guy found out his wish was coming true, life got a little brighter. Life, for so long, has been a struggle for him.
Diagnosed with a neurological condition when he was a toddler, Guy is unable to walk or talk. Despite the daily challenges he faces, Guy continues to beat the odds.
When it came time to decide on a wish, Guy and his family spent weeks researching all the possibilities. Ultimately, Guy decided he wanted to experience the magic of Disney® and wished to go to Disneyland®.
Guy had the time of his life during his wish trip. He spent the entire time smiling, laughing and squealing with excitement. The highlight of the trip was meeting his favorite characters, Mickey Mouse, Olaf and Aladdin. It was exactly what he had dreamed of. Guy's California relatives, who had Disneyland season passes, met up with him at Disneyland. It was the first time he had met them and he had so much fun getting to know his relatives!
“We are grateful beyond words. Never in a million years would we have been able to do this without Make-A-Wish,” said his grandmother, Brenda. “From the moment we got word that Guy’s wish had been granted, a weight was lifted off our shoulders. Our step got a little lighter. We had something fun to look forward to, not the sometimes overwhelming routine we are accustomed to,” Brenda said.
Guy and his family came home from his wish trip refreshed and ready to take on the world again. “There are no words to express how appreciative we are for this experience. It was simply amazing,” Brenda said. “For just a little while, life isn’t just good, it’s amazing!”
