Downtown Saint Paul lights up for the Holidays when we celebrate Rice Park powered by Xcel Energy and the opening of the Wells Fargo WinterSkate Rink for the season on Saturday, November 18, 2017.
Grand Opening festivities begin at 3:30pm with Reindeer and a sleigh in Landmark Park, adjacent to the Wells Fargo WinterSkate warming house. Saint Paul Mayor Coleman and dignitaries from Wells Fargo and Xcel Energy will make remarks. Additional entertainment includes the Teddy Bear Band, the Saint Paul Hotel singers from “It’s a Wonderful Life” radio play, the Wells Fargo Choir, the Saint Paul Police Drumline, and much more! Fireworks take place at 6:30, immediately following the lighting of the majestic Rice Park Christmas Tree and the thousands of beautiful twinkling lights in the park.
Skating performances on the rink add color and interest during the afternoon and conclude with a ribbon cutting at the Wells Fargo WinterSkate rink at 7:00pm.
