In 2005, a small group of adult wiffle ball league members had an idea: why not take a game that is primarily played by kids and create a tournament where the proceeds would benefit kids? Make-A-Wish Minnesota was selected as the charity, and Wifflin' For Wishes was born.
Since its beginning, Wifflin' For Wishes has raised nearly $40,000 to make Minnesota wishes come true, and has recently expanded to have tournaments in Iowa and Massachusetts.
The 12th Annual Wifflin' For Wishes tournament was held in early August at Central Park in Hopkins, Minn., with 37 teams participating in a day filled with wiffle ball, costumes and more - all to make wishes come true for Minnesota kids diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions.
This family-friendly event is open to persons of all ages, skill level and ability. For information about the 2017 Wifflin' For Wishes, click here.
