On Friday, April 11th, students, staff, and family members packed the Little Theater at Hopkins High School for the inaugural HHS Got Talent show. By the end of the high-energy evening, nearly $750 had been raised for Make-A-Wish®
Over 16 separate groups of singers, dancers, musicians, rappers, and poets performed throughout the evening, putting their impressive skills on display for the crowd in an effort to raise funds to grant the wishes of Minnesota children.
The event was presented by the Hopkins chapter of the National Honor Society and the Asian Culture Club. Additionally, HHS’s very own Comedy Club performed and helped introduce the acts. Preparing for the evening brought together many different students and they learned a wide variety of skills, including creating a show flow and managing fast stage transitions.
A $3 cover charge and at will donations produced the generous donation, which was more than double what the students had anticipated. Students believe they have started a new tradition and plan on making the talent show an annual event.
