Adopt-A-Wish®
Everyone involved in fulfilling the wish of a child battling a life-threatening medical condition is touched by the magic of the experience…magic that brings hope, strength and joy to children and their families during a difficult time. A wish is something precious to look forward to and can make all the difference to a seriously ill child and their family.
By adopting a wish you too can be part of the magic. When you, your company, professional club, civic or student group chooses to adopt a specific child’s wish, you have the opportunity to become connected to the wish experience. Every wish is a unique and memorable experience for the wish child, the wish family and all those who participate in the wish. Many donors say they began their support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® and its endearing mission after hearing a child’s memorable wish story.
You can help make wishes comes true for children with life-threatening medical conditions through the Make-A-Wish Foundation Adopt-A-Wish Program. With a donation of $6,500 or more, this giving option allows donors to fund a single wish experience. As the donor, you will receive a special story about your adopted wish so that you can see how your contribution brings joy to a courageous wish child.
While wishes are expressions of each individual child’s imagination, they tend to fall into four categories:
- I wish to be…children “try on” a role such as recording artist or a shark biologist
- I wish to meet…children meet and spend time with a celebrity, hero or sports figure such as Rachael Ray, Adrian Peterson, Taylor Swift, or John Cena
- I wish to go…children travel to a special place such as a Caribbean Cruise, the British Open, Disney World, a Dude Ranch, or Hawaii
- I wish to have…a child’s desire for something tangible is realized, such as a camper, laptop, ATV, bedroom makeover, drum set, or boat
