MINNEAPOLIS (June 23, 2014) – Shoppers at Continental Diamond in Golden Valley may have to do a double take on June 23th as a Disney princess will be in their midst with one of her biggest fan, seven-year-old, Taniya.
It’s all part of Make-A-Wish Minnesota’s plan to kick off Taniya’s wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando. To wish her a royal bon-voyage, Make-A-Wish Minnesota, Jewelers for Children and Continental Diamond will host a special send-off celebration before she departs on her wish trip.
Taniya’s wish is made possible thanks to the support of Jewelers for Children. To ensure Taniya feels like the princess she is, Jewelers for Children will present Taniya with her own princess costume, tiara and more!

About Make-A-Wish Minnesota
Make-A-Wish Minnesota grants the wishes of Minnesota children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true can have positive impacts on the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illnesses, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family. With the help of generous donors and more than 700 Minnesota volunteers, Make-A-Wish Minnesota grants a wish somewhere in the state every 27 hours. It has granted more than 4,000 wishes since its inception in 1982. Visit Make-A-Wish Minnesota at mn.wish.org to learn more.
About Jewelers for Children
Jewelers for Children was founded in 1999 by the U.S. jewelry industry with the mission of helping children in need. Since its inception, JFC has donated more than $ 45 million to programs benefiting children whose lives have been affected by illness, abuse, or neglect through our charity partners St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, Make-A-Wish® America, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the National CASA Association. JFC also provides support to Make-A-Wish® International, and the Santa-America Fund. This nationwide success is due to the continuing generosity of jewelry trade organizations, jewelry and watch manufacturing companies, jewelry retail stores, individual jewelry professionals, and jewelry consumers.
