Twelve-year-old Isaac loves spending time with his friends and family. However, since he was diagnosed with leukemia, Isaac has had countless stays in the hospitals and lots of visits to the doctor. Being away from his friends and family was what Isaac missed the most.
When his social worker and child life specialist at his clinic referred Isaac for a wish with Make-A-Wish® Minnesota, Isaac chose to go to Walt Disney World® Resort because he had never been to the theme park before and he wanted to spend time with his family. Isaac’s wish came true this past spring when he and his family spent six days filled with fun at the theme parks in Orlando.
Isaac and his family had an awesome time at Walt Disney World® Resort. Isaac especially loved his visit to Animal Kingdom® to see the animals. Isaac’s wish gave his family the opportunity to spend time together as a family. When Isaac was in the hospital, the only time his family got be together as a family was when they visited Isaac at the hospital. “This wish means a lot to us. The wish gave us the opportunity to spend time together as a family and forget about being sick for a bit. We enjoyed our family time together and we are very grateful,” said Isaac’s parents, Jean and Cheng. “As we look through our photographs, seeing Isaac’s smile brings us to tears. Thank you for giving us the chance to enjoy, relax and most of all giving Isaac and his siblings something to look forward to,” Jean and Cheng said.
Isaac’s wish was made possible by Running Aces Harness Park through an Adopt-A-Wish® sponsorship. Learn more about the Adopt-A-Wish program and how you can get involved.
